10/3/92 Rumford
How happy we were to be with R.I. family once more!
We visited with Brynne, Tami + Kent in the a.m. Then Bert, Kent + I drove over to Cranston to watch Erich's team win 7-1.
After a nice dinner of eggplant lasagna + spinach we worked the President puzzle that we bought at Gettysburg + watched the movie “Beethoven” a cute movie about a dog who saves the day.
Erich + Kyle spent the night here.
10/4/92 Rumford
This morning the boys, Brynne + I walked the neighbor’s dog, Achers, to the park. While Brynne attended a birthday party, the rest of us went to the Price Club store. It’s similar to Sam’s – a large warehouse type store.
Tami went to her Juniors’ meeting, the boys (Bert, Kent, Erich + Kyle) went to Erich’s game + I stayed with Brynne.
We treated the kids to a pizza/pasta dinner + retired early.
10/5/92 Rumford - Bath, Ohio
Drove 12 hours to Dottie + Jim G’s in Bath, Ohio. Beautiful foliage across Pa. on Rt. 80.
We had a great visit with Dottie and Jim G for a few days.
10/6/92 The Ws (Barb + Woodie) + the Ss of Orrville (Kate + Frank) came for a wonderful day! Dottie cooked a delicious 7 course dinner.
10/7/92 Left Bath in a.m. Saw some other Marco Island friends.
Had lunch with Ron + Edith U. Then moved on to Rocky River and spent the rest of the day with Marie + Ray McN. They entertained the Erie Rd gang and us for cocktails + then we went to the Wilshire Grill for dinner on Clifton + 104th. Nice visit with Dar + Sue L, Pat + Warren S + Janet + Frank C.
10/8/92 Spent the a.m. touring downtown Cleve. with Ray +Marie to see all the changes that have taken place since we moved to Florida. Had lunch at their house. Went to Westgate + Marc’s shopping. Dinner at Don’s River City with Marie + Ray. Choir practice in P.M.
10/9/92 Moved to Bay Village with Phyllis + Dan K in afternoon. Helen had us for cocktails – Anne + Tom E, Phyllis + Dan K joined us. Helen joined us for dinner at K’s.
10/10/92 Dan drove us to the Museum of Natural History after breakfast to see the La Brea Tar Pits exhibit. Toured the Garden Center, then went back to their pace for lunch. Dinner at Iron Gate.
10/11/92 Sang with Chancel Choir at Rocky River Pres. It was David T’s last Sun. We saw a lot of our friends at the reception for him afterwards.
10/12/92 Rocky River - Columbus
Drove down Rt. 71 to Dublin + the colors were the most vibrant of any foliage so far! We had a delicious meal at Mark Pi’s China Gate with Grace + Ed T after visiting Edith and Ron U at their new villa in Hilliard.
10/13/92 Columbus - Springfield, Ohio
Left after breakfast for S’fld where we spent two days with Mary Jane B and we caught up with all the news there. She showed us all the improvements in Springfield – the library, Y, Senior Center, etc. We drove out in the country + got apples - the best I’ve ever tasted! Watched TV + retired early.
10/14/92
The last night of our 3 week tour was spent at the Travelodge in Athens, Ala. We ate dinner at the Cracker Barrel, watched the VP debates + World Series playoffs. As I’m writing our Braves are getting clobbered + I’m about ready to call it quits.
10/15/92 Going home today after touring 3 weeks visiting friends in Ohio.
